And opening week begins

Well in the midst of the whole chaos known as Final Fantasy XIV I got to spend some timing playing miner before I got booted. Which by the way seems to be a common occurence. And so help you to get back into a full server................ Darn why did I make my characters on Excalibur... WHY!!!!

And back to mining. Here are some screenshots of mining. It is a very simple concept and it is also quite addicting if I do say so myself. But then again I always had a thing for farming materials....

Since the mining guild is in Ul' dah your mining adventures will most likely begin in Thanalan. The mining nodes seem to spawn in a 4 node pattern. Meaning you follow a square path to hit up all 4 nodes that pop up on your mini map and then repeat. 

 This map shows a picture of of Thanalan where your initial mining adventures will take place. Your level 5 nodes can be found in the area near Stonesthrow and the Ul' dah Dispatch Yard. There you can mine a variety of items. [Copper ore, Muddy water, Wind shard, Lightning shard] As an added bonus the mining nodes in the Ul' dah Dispatch Yard is also the spot where you can find Bone chips for your level 5 mining quest. So just chill here until  you reach level 5 cause I am pretty sure you won't be able to mine from level 10 nodes until you hit level 5/ But I could be wrong there.

Oh another thing I noticed is that I am pretty sure your mining nodes are only visible to you. Cause when i watched the other players around me mining I couldn't see their node. Just them hitting the rocks.... An interesting concept where you don't have to compete for gathering spots like you do in other games. I wonder if this changes during higher level mining....

Well this part is simple.... At level 10 and up you pretty much mine Iron ore and more iron ore seeing as how that is the only thing you can mine.... Well that is aside from water shards anyway.
Hurray for mining. It does get a bit tedious at times. But all I really need is a light snack a long playlist and here I come farming.

End of the day leaves me at level 14 mining. Not too shabby if I do say so myself.

Log in Terror 3102

Well I have to say this should have been expected. Ever since yesterday I have been experiencing the dreaded 3102 log in that plague us all throughout phase 4 of beta testing. What we once thought was officially solved as come back to haunt us. Meaning..... my entire early release has just been wasted........
WTF???

I have the feeling that it is going to be like this for quite some time..... Like for the rest of this week. Still looking into all my bets into how long this version of 14 is going to last for........
Sigh DARN YOU SQUARE ENIX!!!!!!!

Day 2 continued. Okay so I kind of went crazy with the whole screenshot thing, but I thought you would enjoy checking them out. I think they came out great anyway. So here you go!!

Yep that was some last remnants of fishing. Was fun and so simple. And not to shabby if I do say so myself.

Now onto the all important Botany. WOOOO!!!

Oh for those who don't know what a Botanist does they are one of the three gathering classes. They primary harvest raw materials for Profession classes (also known as Disciples of Hand) such as Weaving and Leatherworking via mature trees or lush vegetation. 

So here is a crap ton more of picutres. I started at level 1 Botany booooo!!!!! But it is fairly easy and quick to level and for some unknown reason Square Enix made the gathering classes so darn addicting. Its ridiculous and awesome at the same time!!!

Time Start: 8 pm eastern standard time

A quick time check tells me its now 10 pm eastern standard time. Yeah I know I could have gotten to level 15 by now. Well guess what I got dc'd twice and there is a long que time to get back onto the server. That and I got hungry....................

Ok so I am now level 15 Botany. HURRAY!!!!!!! The time is now just after 12 midnight eastern standard time. The good news is I only have 5 more levels to go till I hit the level 20 beta cap. The bad news is that I just got dc'd again and I cannot log in due to an error....................................

Time: 1 am eastern standard time

DARN YOU SQUARE ENIX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently there is a log in issue that is affecting a ton of servers and S.E. has no idea how to fix it. So guess what they are doing.... they are shutting down the affected servers to see if they can fix the issue...........

MEANING I am going to bed. Since I can't log into the game there is absolutely no point in being awake. I have no idea when the servers will be back up or if they will fix the log in issue. Eh whatever. Bedtime

Day 3: I wake up at 7 am and nothing..................................

The issue still persists, where a lot but not all people are unable to log into the game. And I just love Square Enix solution to the problem. Basically if you are having that log in issue then it simply means your beta is over.......................................

WTF

That is all I have to say to that. There goes my weekend marathon. Sigh. Life is a pain sometimes, a real pain. Guess this means I have to wait for early release on the 24th...... Joy. 

Will update you guys again once I get back in game. If that ever happens.

Thank you Square Enix for your continued soul sucking life draining work and I hope we can continue on in such a fashion.......

Ok Day 2: Wooooo Its time for fishing

And after burning some daylight hours we get Fisherman Level 13. Oh yeah fishing is awesome and so simple. Popped my Pandora and really got into it. 

And now onto the nighttime session which will be dedicated to Botany. Lets see how far I can get.
